ХЗ [xɛˈzɛ] ist ein Projekt des ХЗ Kollektivs und der erste deutschsprachige Post-Ost Podcast. Julia Boxler, Ani Menua und Helena Melikov versuchen gemeinsam zu verstehen, was heute abgeht und landen dabei immer wieder bei ihren sowjetischen und postsowjetischen Prägungen der 80er und 90er Jahre zwischen Kasachstan, Armenien, Russland und Deutschland.
ХЗ [xɛˈzɛ] is a project of the ХЗ Collective and the first German-language post-East podcast. Julia Boxler, Ani Menua and Helena Melikov together try to understand what’s going on today and always end up with their Soviet and post-Soviet imprints of the 80s and 90s between Kazakhstan, Armenia, Russia and Germany. If you are looking for a differentiated approach to migration stories, shared biographical experiences, difficulties in arriving or identity truggles, you are in good hands at X3. Sometimes with guests, sometimes just among ourselves, we share experiences and perspectives and thus give a voice to an entire generation of post-Osties or Russian-Germans+.

>>> Installation and performance „Cumbia Against Fascism“ <<<
Cumbia Against Fascism is a performance and installation referring to the amazing persona of Walter Mercado, an LGBT+ icon and an astrologist from Puerto Rico, spreading love with the world with his iconic: „…y sobre todo: mucho, mucho amor!“ („and above all: lots, lots of love!“). Breaking religious and gender boundaries, he was comparing himself to Buddha. For these reasons and because of the rising homophobic atmosphere in the country of Kamila‘s origin, Poland, she commemorates Walter Mercado with a spiritual and symbolic portrait. The symbolic of birds refers to Mercado’s magical powers, which people of his neighbourhood have discovered after he had healed a bird with his hands. During this event you will have the chance to pray to Walter Mercado, dance, spread peace and tread on the faces of homophobic populistic politicians.

Cumbia Against Fascism ist eine Performance und eine Installation zugleich, welches sich auf die erstaunliche Persönlichkeit von Walter Mercado bezieht. Mercado war eine LGBTIQ+-Ikone und ein Astrologe aus Puerto Rico, der den ikonischen Slogan: „…y sobre todo: mucho, mucho amor!“ („und vor allem: viel, viel Liebe!“) verbreitete. In seiner Arbeit überschritt er religiöse und geschlechtsspezifische Grenzen, indem er sich mit Buddha verglich. Aus diesen Gründen und der zunehmenden homophoben Atmosphäre in Kamilas Heimatland Polen gedenkt sie auch an Walter Mercado mit einem spirituellen und symbolischen Porträt. Die Symbolik des Vogels verweist auf Mercados magische Kräfte, die die Menschen in seiner Nachbarschaft entdeckt haben, nachdem er einen Vogel mit seinen Händen geheilt hatte. Bei dieser Veranstaltung haben Sie die Möglichkeit, für Walter Mercado zu beten, zu tanzen, Frieden zu verbreiten und homophoben, populistischen Politikern ins Gesicht zu treten.
Elke (Quarteera) – Comic Book Presentation “Love Migration” (EN)
Quarteera ist ein Verein, der sich mit dem Ziel, Homofeindlichekeit in der russischsprachigen Community zu bekämpfen und russischsprachige homo-, trans- und bisexuelle Menschen deutschlandweit zu vernetzen, in Berlin gegründet hat. Mit sozialen, kulturellen und pädagogischen Projekten wie zum Beispiel dem Marzahn Pride und einem umfassenden Beratungsangebot leistet Quarteera einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Kampf gegen Homo- und Transfeindlichkeit.
Im Rahmen von In Feminis Veritas stellt Elke Renate Steiner ihren Comic ‚Love Migration‘ vor, der von der Beziehung zwischen einer russischen LGBT+ Aktivistin und einer deutschen Comicautorin handelt.

Quarteera is an association that was founded in Berlin with the goal of fighting homophobia in the Russian-speaking community and connecting Russian-speaking LGBTQI+ people throughout Germany. With social, cultural, and educational projects such as Marzahn Pride and a comprehensive range of counseling services, Quarteera is an important resource and organization in the fight against homophobia and transphobia.
As part of In Feminis Veritas, Elke Renate Steiner will present her comic ‚Love Migration‘. Elke is a comics creator in Berlin. She is married to Masha, LGBT activist and software developer, who grew up in Siberia and lived in Saint Petersburg; now they live together with their cat in Berlin. In her comic ‚Love Migration‚ she tells the very first chapter of their love story, how they met in Saint Petersburg, fell in love, and eventually married. This brochure was published in 2019 with the support of Quarteera e.V.

Katya Kov - Art Exhibition and Music Video SADO OPERA - Patriarchs (EN)
Katya vom Kunstkollektiv SADO OPERA ist Performance-Künstlerin und Kuratorin. Sie ist in St. Petersburg, Russland, geboren und aufgewachsen. Queere Kunst und queeres Theater sind die Themen mit denen sie sich intensiv beschäftigt, sie antreiben und die sie zu ihren Projekten inspirieren. Ihre Motivation ist es, queere Räume und queere Veranstaltungen zu schaffen, die über Ländergrenzen hinausgehen, da sie gerne zum Aufbau einer internationalen Gemeinschaft und Verwandtschaft beiträgt. Feminismus bedeutet für sie eine extreme und andauernde Dankbarkeit gegenüber denjenigen, die in der Vergangenheit und heute für unsere Rechte gekämpft haben, sowie die gleiche andauernde und inspirierende Verantwortung, einen Beitrag zu leisten und den Kampf für gleiche Rechte und Chancen für heute und morgen aufrechtzuerhalten und die systemischen Ungleichheiten, mit denen wir täglich konfrontiert sind, in Frage zu stellen. Dies versucht sie durch ihre ausführende Kunst.

Katya of the SADO OPERA art collective is a performance artist and curator. She was born and grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia. Queer art and queer theater are the topics she loves to dive into and that inspire and fuel her to create her projects. Her motivation is to create queer spaces and queer events that are across and beyond borders, as she loves to contribute to building up an international community and kinship. Feminism to her means extreme and ongoing gratitude towards those who were fighting for our rights in the past and today, as well as the same ongoing and inspiring responsibility to contribute and keep up the fight for equal rights and opportunities for today and tomorrow and to challenge the systemic inequalities that are faced on a daily basis, which she tries to do within her art practices.

Galina (Quarteera) - booklet on LGBT+ in post-Soviet countries (DE)
Quarteera ist ein Verein, der sich mit dem Ziel, Homofeindlichekeit in der russischsprachigen Community zu bekämpfen und russischsprachige homo-, trans- und bisexuelle Menschen deutschlandweit zu vernetzen, in Berlin gegründet hat. Im Rahmen von In Feminis Veritas wird Galina Terekhova die Broschüre „Situation von Lesben, Schwulen, Bisexuellen und Transgender in den Staaten der ehemaligen UdSSR“ vorstellen. Fast alle Artikel der Broschüre wurden von Vertreter:innen der queeren Communities in den jeweiligen Ländern verfasst.

Art exhibition by Nadya Sayapina
Nadya Sayapina is an artist, author of projects and an art tutor. She was born in Belarus in 1989. Using various forms – performances, multimedia, installations, paintings, texts, and art therapy – Nadya focuses on mediation as a chance to reveal the voices of ‚others‘. Her artistic method implies horizontal communication and appeals to reflect on experiences that are common to the artist and the group with which she works.
WHAT SHE WEARS BENEATH is a project about the endlessly relevant problem of corporality. Today, we don’t just wear underwear beneath our clothes. We carry a tapestry woven from insults. This fabric of direct and metaphorical abuse is sewn into our minds and bodies. It is varnished with the gloss of stereotype-enforcing magazines and advertisements. Just as these stereotypes tell us that the ‚correct‘ female body must be sexy, they also give us the tools to create an image of what is ‚wrong‘ with us. The problem is not the nudity itself but its extreme selectivity, which creates standards, and leads to the complexes we carry.
